Head of Commercial (Energy Storage) - London

Under a new division, our client is looking to develop and grow a portfolio of energy storage assets that provide fast and reliable flexibility into this marketplace. This involves an ambition to become a leading developer of energy storage, including but not limited to, battery systems. This leading commercial role is part of the new storage team and is critical in providing overall commercial and business development, analysis and assurance across a range of areas relating to the development and delivery of energy storage solutions. The role will initially involve a broad range of advanced commercial skills and a degree of flexibility, including analysing and modelling the commercials of site deployments, bidding strategies for service delivery, development of appropriate commercial arrangements and contracts for pilot sites, and provision of market/customer knowledge, and building/supporting the development of these relationships.

Develop robust customer-specific commercial models based on customer data and storage characteristics that identifies the potential revenue streams and economics available
Develop, negotiate and manage appropriate contractual arrangements to support technology and site partnerships, which address key risks
Business development and overall commercial relationship management of key technology and site partners
Qualify organisation and asset types through industry research.
Conduct research on market and competitor developments in the energy sector.
Support the storage team in the development of key customer relationships, including background research, attendance at meetings, and maintaining customer records.

 


Head of Engineering, Energy Storage - London

Our Client is a very well funded and positioned new technology company aiming to provide the technology and financial mechanisms to connect, control and manage a real time network of existing energy assets covering generation, consumption and storage. This is an outstanding opportunity to join, shape and influence a rapidly developing technology form destined to lead the way in Demand Side Management.

A strong electrical engineering background, ideally to degree level, and at least 5 years’ of relevant work experience in one or more of the following:
Experience of sectors of the electricity industry (preferably in a renewable or other generation organisation, DNO innovation, or the wider electricity market);
A robust understanding of power systems engineering
Experience in the specification, design, tendering or operation of HV electrical equipment for renewables or storage installations, such as transformers, switchgear, protection (preferably inverters and/or battery energy storage systems)
Competence in resolving a range of technical power systems engineering issues for networks (preferably incorporating LV through to 33kV)
The connection of generation/demand to distribution networks at various voltage levels
Appreciation of health and safety of HV electrical equipment and assetsExcellent electrical engineering/power systems expertise
Ability to work with external engineering organisations and customers/stakeholders representing Origami to best effect, providing accurate technical guidance
Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity. Thrives on a fast moving environment subject to rapid change Seeks out relevant background work to understand best practice and build on others work Good interpersonal skills; an ability to organise and manage meetings, and communicate clearly and confidently at all levels
High level planning and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Role description To approach new and existing clients and identify business needs where our client, a leading global consulting & Smart Technology firm, can improve business performance in a range of metrics. Critically the ability to add value by applying domain knowledge and experience to ensure IT initiatives closely match business expectations and desired outcomes. 

The post-holder will be expected to maintain an up to date view of sector requirements and be actively engaged in developing these with clients through to project delivery.
Qualification and experience of electricity distribution or DNO IT experience , and/or smart grid project experience.

Qualified electrical engineer ideally network company trained and authorised or IT professionals with DNO delivery experience.

A range of generation technologies and systems experience is required applied to assets in different lifecycle stages.
The management of multiple site projects and parent company liaison will be a distinct advantage. 

 

Power Generation and asset management domain expert - Manchester
