We are currently recruiting on behalf of a fast growth, ethical Energy supplier, with a solid reputation in the UK and South Europe as a provider of clean energy and high standard customer service.

As a result of their expansion in the energy market, we are currently seeking a figure of Data & Insight Analyst to support their Operation and Commercial team.

Ideally, the right candidate will have experience in an operation environment within an energy supplier business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the Operations and Commercial teams by delivering data driven insight aiming to performance improvements.

  • Experience in manipulating complex datasets (including dirty data) with a range of programming tools.

  • Building, analysing and identifying trends/anomalies in reports.

  • Optimization of reporting tool performance.

  • Regularly presenting Insight to the business to which drives positive changes.

  • Automating existing processes.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Highly analytical with knowledge of statistical techniques and data cleansing.

  • Ability to simplify complex analytical output for communication in the business.

  • Ability to identify & develop most suitable statistical approach to support Operations and Commercial teams through analysis & insight.

  • Experience with analytical tools (preferably SQL, VBA or similar).

  • Understanding of the data requirements and technical required to support the analytical toolset

  • Highly numerate with data manipulation skills

  • 2 years+ experience. Energy sector background would be advantageous but not essential

Required Skills/Experience

We are assisting them through a period of expansion and as part of this we are currently seeking to recruit an Energy Trader to join and support their Gas and Power Trading desk.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in managing a Portfolio of trading partners

  • Examine traders supply details, validated through our client’s ETRM system

  • Verify deals with counterparties and confirm the accuracy of trading information within the ETRM system

  • Rectify invoices, invoice counterparties within the agreed time limit

  • Negotiation of trading positions

  • Check transaction details for each deal

  • Examine and send using the ETRM system to the counterparties the confirmations, collect the details for each deal

  • Communication with both internal and external teams

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of experience in the Energy Market and Energy Trading

  • Previous experience in managing a portfolio of trading partners

  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Able to perform in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

  • Ability to perform in a team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics or relevant subject

  • Fluent in English

  • Exceptional MS Office, Bloomberg experience is required

  • ETRM knowledge would be ideal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the current Project Manager in the delivery of multiple projects within the Company.

  • managing Project Teams and completing within time, scope and budget.

  • Working as part of a Team and autonomously to deliver Projects and liaising with all levels within the company and many third parties.

  • Working closely with the Project Sponsors to understand the governance and high-level business requirements for the project, developing effective working relationships and ongoing management processes for the projects.

  • Defining the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project, and managing the analysis, development and delivery phases.

  • Providing Project Updates both verbally and in writing to different levels within the Company.

  • Creating and setting up all Project Documentation required to govern the Projects and keeping up to date.

  • Required to Project Manage and take ownership for the delivery of some/all workstreams within the Project too.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager.

  • Professional, resilient, tenacious in the event of change.

  • Experience working within a waterfall and an agile environment and working as part of a team to delivering complex projects and business change programmes.

  • Excellent communication skills to maintain relationships at all levels within the business and with third parties.

  • Able to think of the bigger picture when faced with challenges and identify possible solutions.

  • Can do attitude with a strong ability to multi task.

  • Educated to degree level with PRINCE2 or experience in other project methodologies with proven experience in this role.

  • Previous experience of Project Managing in the Domestic & Commercial Energy Market is of benefit.

  • The ability to foster motivation within the project team to meet tight deadlines.

  • The ability to facilitate workshops and chair meetings efficiently.

You will also take responsibility for preparing the business for implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and should therefore be comfortable with Data Protection standards and ISO27001 compliance.

You will be required to accurately forecast the energy requirements of the business' portfolio and proactively manage the resulting commodity position, so experience in a similar role in the UK will be essential. 

The Role:

  • Monitoring and evaluating, forecasting performance for power

  • Reporting the hedge position for power

  • Identifying and managing risks associated with the forecast and hedge

  • Monitoring, developing and evaluating key demand forecasting assumptions

  • Managing forecasting data, liaising with stakeholders to improve data quality

Ideal Skill Sets And Experience

  • 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Strong academic background with a numerical/technical degree

  • Highly numerate with extensive analytical skill sets

  • Experienced in analysing large and complex data sets across multiple databases/sources

  • Advanced Excel with SAS/SQL advantageous

  • Excellent time management and stakeholder management skills
