Our client is a leading, multidisciplinary, global consulting firm with an outstanding reputation in the Energy and Utilities sector. We are seeking a Director to drive business growth within the Financial Investment market and with Energy Suppliers, Utilities and Operators across Europe.

Along with a demonstrable track record of success in the sale and/or business development of consulting services in the sector, the ideal candidate will possess a depth of knowledge and experience in energy market analysis, growth strategy and investment decision support advisory services.

The role requires experience in ideally several of the following areas

• Strong reputation and network with financial investors, utilities, energy suppliers and operators
• A Strength of knowledge of market analytics and the modelling of the electricity and gas markets
• Recognised leader in the industry
• Detailed understanding of fundamental drivers of market development including regulatory requirements
• Some experience in the use of power system modelling and planning such as capacity planning, dispatch modelling, expansion planning, market modelling, market management systems and related tools
• Financial modelling and asset valuation
• Economic modelling and investment decision making
• Business case development and the presentation of complex value propositions
• Economic forecasting and market insight
• Energy policy evaluation
• UK and European power systems and markets

Our client is a rapidly growing, ethical, energy supply business with a strong reputation in the UK and Europe as a provider of clean energy solutions and outstanding customer service. We are assisting them through a period of expansion and as part of this we are currently seeking to recruit an Energy Trader to join and support their Gas and Power Trading desk.


  • Support in managing a Portfolio of trading partners

  • Examine traders supply details, validated through our client’s ETRM system

  • Verify deals with counterparties and confirm the accuracy of trading information within the ETRM system

  • Rectify invoices, invoice counterparties within the agreed time limit

  • Negotiation of trading positions

  • Check transaction details for each deal

  • Examine and send using the ETRM system to the counterparties the confirmations, collect the details for each deal

  • Communication with both internal and external teams


  • 2+ years of experience in the Energy Market and Energy Trading

  • Previous experience in managing a portfolio of trading partners

  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Able to perform in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

  • Ability to perform in a team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics or relevant subject

  • Fluent in English

  • Exceptional MS Office, Bloomberg experience is required

  • ETRM knowledge would be ideal.

Requirements: -

  • Experience in Salesforce and Salesforce ISVs
  • Ability to communicate complex, technical, ideas to senior level technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and create business opportunities (upsell) through a thorough understanding of clients’ requirements and the Salesforce solution
  • Experience in the field of – Utilities, Natural Resources, Chemical or Mining a benefit but not mandatory
  • Ability to travel frequently
