Position Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the delivery of the business’s smart meter deployment obligation through 3rd party partnerships.

  • Manage the creation and maintenance of a collaborative rolling supply chain deployment forecast / delivery planning process to ensure conformance with regulatory obligations.

  • Manage supply chain conformance with regulatory obligations with respect to safety, customer service and data integrity whilst adhering to budgetary commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Smart Metering Deployment obligation through 3rd party partnerships.

  • Ensure a quality customer service ethos, is imbedded across our service providers and SMICOP compliance is constantly achieved.

  • Specify, setup and manage a collaborative supply chain capacity and stock forecasting / management process to ensure compliance with Smart Metering deployment obligations.

  • Financial governance; ensure £30m of contractor payments comply with good corporate governance and are underpinned by receipt of associated market messages.

  • Manage our 3rd party delivery partners, by developing and implementing a robust suit of Key Performance Indicators.

  • Manage Smart deployment planned versus actual management and regulatory reporting.

  • Manage the collation, investigation and required remedial action and contractual liquidated damages as appropriate.

  • Manage and develop strong relationships between internal and external stakeholders.

  • Drive metering deployment efficiency improvement through the application of continuous improvement, engaging external partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage discretionary demand for metering services to minimise unnecessary metering service activity.

Industry and Metering Contracts Manager

They are now seeking an experienced contracts manager with a background in the UK energy supply industry to manage the full contracts lifecycle from appointment to termination managing both the industry and metering portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop strong relationships between internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead the structured development of the key contracting principles in collaboration with contract stakeholders for all new and replacement contracts.

  • In collaboration with group procurement and legal, manage the formal procurement and contracting process for additional / replacement / renewal of Industry and Metering services contracts.

  • Negotiate new contracting arrangements on behalf of our client.

  • Manage the formal contract governance and approval process and generate all required documentation between our client and third parties

  • Manage the contract lifecycle for approximately 30 Industry and Metering service contracts and prepare a joint support plan with group legal and procurement.

  • In accordance with governance requirements, manage and operate a formal contract change process in response to regulatory change and or operational issues.

  • Conduct formal scheduled contract performance oversight of active service delivery contracts to ensure fulfilment of all contractual obligations by the contracting parties.

  • Operationally manage the suit of Meter Asset Provision (MAP) contracts ensuring correct charging and delivery of key obligations such as non-compliant goods, warranty and firmware.

  • Mange MAP expenditure as set by the Industry and Metering budget. (circa£10m pa by 2020 & growing in proportion to customer base)

  • Conduct formal periodic contract audits to verify compliance with safety and data security obligations.

  • Conduct annual commercial contract benchmarking to verify continued delivery of good value to the business

  • Manage a contract dispute process to ensure application of suitable remedial actions by the contracting parties.

  • Represent on selected industry boards as required.

  • Support the successful establishment of the business within GB

  • Become a key member of the metering management team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience of managing metering and / or Industry services contracts across the full life-cycle

  • 5+ years’ experience of project managing collaborative procurement and contracting projects

  • 2+ years of contract expenditure management

  • Deep understanding of contract law and supporting governance processes

  • Demonstrate excellent negotiating, interpersonal and communication skills

They are now seeking an experienced, smart metering specialist, with a background in the UK energy supply industry to setup, maintain and continuously improve the smart metering technical asset management function within the Industry and Metering department for the business. You will be responsible for ensuring the business manages the full lifecycle of our smart metering assets minimising adverse customer impacts and cost of asset ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technically assess the suitability of new smart metering assets within a formal commercial procurement framework.

  • Manage the introduction of new metering asset types into the business’s portfolio, IT estate and installation supply chain agents.

  • Specify, setup and manage a remote smart meter issue diagnostics function for all smart meter types within the business portfolio.

  • Manage the collation, investigation and required remedial action for all reported metering faults.

  • Manage metering asset warranty claims with the appropriate Metering Asset Provider (MAP) / Manufacturers.

  • Impact assess proposed metering and or communications module firmware updates and manage a governance process to ensure firmware is deployed without impacting customer service or installed asset life.

  • Specify, setup and manage a smart metering events and alerts function to filter automated metering anomaly reporting and were appropriate initiate follow on action.

  • Manage the selection and operation of external meter accuracy services.

  • Manage the smart meter encryption key lifecycle.

  • Participate in the annual SEC CIO security audit.

  • Work in partnership with other operational teams to deliver an excellent customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in managing a Portfolio of trading partners

  • Examine traders supply details, validated through our client’s ETRM system

  • Verify deals with counterparties and confirm the accuracy of trading information within the ETRM system

  • Rectify invoices, invoice counterparties within the agreed time limit

  • Negotiation of trading positions

  • Check transaction details for each deal

  • Examine and send using the ETRM system to the counterparties the confirmations, collect the details for each deal

  • Communication with both internal and external teams

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of experience in the Energy Market and Energy Trading

  • Previous experience in managing a portfolio of trading partners

  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Able to perform in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

  • Ability to perform in a team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics or relevant subject

  • Fluent in English

  • Exceptional MS Office, Bloomberg experience is required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the current Project Manager in the delivery of multiple projects within the Company.

  • managing Project Teams and completing within time, scope and budget.

  • Working as part of a Team and autonomously to deliver Projects and liaising with all levels within the company and many third parties.

  • Working closely with the Project Sponsors to understand the governance and high-level business requirements for the project, developing effective working relationships and ongoing management processes for the projects.

  • Defining the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project, and managing the analysis, development and delivery phases.

  • Providing Project Updates both verbally and in writing to different levels within the Company.

  • Creating and setting up all Project Documentation required to govern the Projects and keeping up to date.

  • Required to Project Manage and take ownership for the delivery of some/all workstreams within the Project too.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager.

  • Experience working within a waterfall and an agile environment and working as part of a team to delivering complex projects and business change programmes.

  • Excellent communication skills to maintain relationships at all levels within the business and with third parties.
