Industry and Metering Contracts Manager
Our client’s purpose is to create a more sustainable future through coupling energy supply with innovative technology solutions. They are well-funded, start-up energy supplier and entering a growth-stage. They are now seeking an experienced contracts manager with a background in the UK energy supply industry to manage the full contracts lifecycle from appointment to termination managing both the industry and metering portfolio.
Manage and develop strong relationships between internal and external stakeholders.
Lead the structured development of the key contracting principles in collaboration with contract stakeholders for all new and replacement contracts.
In collaboration with group procurement and legal, manage the formal procurement and contracting process for additional / replacement / renewal of Industry and Metering services contracts.
Negotiate new contracting arrangements on behalf of our client.
Manage the formal contract governance and approval process and generate all required documentation between our client and third parties
Manage the contract lifecycle for approximately 30 Industry and Metering service contracts and prepare a joint support plan with group legal and procurement.
In accordance with governance requirements, manage and operate a formal contract change process in response to regulatory change and or operational issues.
Conduct formal scheduled contract performance oversight of active service delivery contracts to ensure fulfilment of all contractual obligations by the contracting parties.
Operationally manage the suit of Meter Asset Provision (MAP) contracts ensuring correct charging and delivery of key obligations such as non-compliant goods, warranty and firmware.
Mange MAP expenditure as set by the Industry and Metering budget. (circa£10m pa by 2020 & growing in proportion to customer base)
Conduct formal periodic contract audits to verify compliance with safety and data security obligations.
Conduct annual commercial contract benchmarking to verify continued delivery of good value to the business
Manage a contract dispute process to ensure application of suitable remedial actions by the contracting parties.
Represent on selected industry boards as required.
Support the successful establishment of the business within GB
Become a key member of the metering management team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
5+ years’ experience of managing metering and / or Industry services contracts across the full life-cycle
5+ years’ experience of project managing collaborative procurement and contracting projects
2+ years of contract expenditure management
Deep understanding of contract law and supporting governance processes
Demonstrate excellent negotiating, interpersonal and communication skills
Comfortable presenting to and engaging with stakeholders at all levels
Analytical mind-set with strong Microsoft office skills
Deep understanding of gas and electricity smart metering products and associated services markets
Deep understanding of SaaS contracting
Deep understanding of competitive benchmarking
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering continuous improvement initiatives
Either 3rd Level qualification/university degree or equivalent work experience managing metering or industry service contracts.
The role is based in Manchester and will include regular travel to Metering and Industry agents and Dublin, Ireland.
The successful candidate will report to the Industry and Metering Manager.
