The job

Our client are looking for a Head of Metering to join our rapidly growing energy start-up and take ownership of all things metering – both Smart and legacy.

Our client have a unique relationship with a meter operator (MOP) and meter asset manager (MAM) meaning they’re one of the leading installers of Smart meters in the UK.  Directly reporting to the Head of Industry Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a Brighton based team of metering specialists. 

You will take responsibility for every part of the Smart meter customer journey.  If you haven’t worked in a role connected to metering UK Energy Supplier, this might not be the role for you.  Our client are specifically looking for candidates with detailed understanding of meter exchange processes. If you’ve got experience with Junifer CRM, Morrisons Data Services USS, Secure Smart meters or the DCC then all the better. This Management role is also expected to take the lead in change decisions and work with the Head of Industry Operations on setting the department strategy.

You’ll be in charge of delivering a key target for the business – for 90% of our clients’ customers to have a Smart meter by 2020.  You’ll develop and deliver strategies and processes to meet this target, ensuring efficiency and a great customer experience.  Working with our client’s partner meter operator, you’ll build simple and effective processes that make life easy for employees and customers.  As our client progresses to a nationwide rollout of SMETS v2 Smart meters, this role will be instrumental in their success.

We are seeking a Principal / Senior / Manager level technical consultant to provide strategic leadership across the Smart Metering sector in Europe. You will be an innovative thinker capable of shaping a value proposition and winning and delivering strategic transformation projects. You will have a passion for technology and the energy sector.

Smart Metering experience in any of the following areas welcomed:

  • Relevant consulting or business transformation experience in the Smart Metering industry
  • Genuine understanding of the impacts, challenges and opportunities Smart metering brings to Utilities and businesses.
  • Knowledge of Industry best practices in Smart Metering implementation
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment
  • Knowledge of Smart Metering technology changes and their impacts to the achievement of Smart strategies
  • Deep operational content skills in the Utilities industry
  • Deployment planning or process improvement expertise
  • Experience in Utility organizational change, including developing and implementing creative solutions to drive business transformation

Required Skills:

To succeed as a Smart Metering specialist, you must have the following skills:

  • Willingness to travel as required across Europe.

Base salary up to €120,000 + bonus and industry leading benefits package
